Illinois CPA Society Honors Assistant Professor Iyad Rock as Outstanding Educator

Iyad Rock, assistant professor of accounting, was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Educator Award by the Illinois CPA Society for his achievements in education and the accounting profession. The Outstanding Educator Award honors educators at Illinois colleges and universities who have made considerable contributions to the education of accounting students through their leadership, teaching excellence, and active involvement in the accounting profession. Rock teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, and financial management at the ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº College of Business. His research interests include earnings management, financial reporting and compliance, internal controls, machine learning, and textual analysis. Rock contributes to the academic community through publications and presentations, aiming to bridge the gap between accounting research, education, and practice. Rock will be honored at a Leadership Recognition and Awards Dinner in Chicago on June 13 for his work as a leader and educator in the field of finance and accounting. The Illinois CPA Society, with more than 21,700 members, is one of the largest state CPA societies in the nation. Its mission is dedicated to enhancing the value of the CPA profession through the strategic initiatives of advocacy, information, education, and connections.
